How can i witness for christ

This is proven by accounts in the New Testament of newly saved people immediately speaking about Christ and what He had done for them. For instance, in John 4 the Samaritan woman met Jesus at the well, and then right away told everyone in her city about Him. The apostle John said in 1 John John simply wrote about what he had seen and heard.

For example, we can tell people how burdened down with sin and guilt we were, how Jesus died for us, and how He saved us. Or we can tell them that Jesus now lives in us and is with us all the time. We can speak of what Jesus did for us. We can speak of His love for us, and of His care for us. If we stop to think about it, we actually have a lot to say about our dear Lord! Speaking to people about the Lord also requires practice.

It may be helpful to set a goal of speaking to one person every week or every two weeks, for example. Otherwise, it would be easy to put off practicing and never start. There are many ways and many opportunities to witness to those around us. The book of Acts is full of accounts of people being saved through different believers.

For instance, we can write a letter or email to someone we know to share the Lord Jesus with them. We can write about our experience of salvation, or how the Lord has worked in our lives. Jesus was a master of using questions. See Luke 5 and Matthew 11 to read about how Jesus used thoughtful questions to teach the people. When you ask good questions and listen well, it often leads to opportunities to share your experience and what you believe.

One way to be prepared is to learn to tell your spiritual story. This can be the story of how you became a Christian or it can be the story of how God changed you in a particular area of life.

When people decide to follow Jesus, they need other Christians to continue to come alongside them so they can learn more about their new faith and how to grow closer to God.

Learn more about conversational evangelism and the CoJourners paradigm for sharing your faith. The Agape movement in Switzerland uses four symbols on a wristband to simply and clearly explain the gospel.

What can you do when someone asks you for change? Learn how to respond to panhandling in a God-centered way. All Right Reserved. Have a conversation about the message and be ready to answer any questions they may have about your faith in Jesus. Words of encouragement are important, especially during this difficult year. Really take the time to make your note hopeful and personal. Pick out an encouraging passage from the Bible to share with them.

In this simple way, you will be a witness for Jesus. When you read your daily Bible study, does someone come to your mind? You can text someone the link to the website, share the devotional on social media, give them a physical copy of our studies, or connect them to our app. Ask them what they thought, how they connected, or what they learned. Have you noticed a friend who is looking or acting a little down?

Prayer is a simple but important way you can be a witness for Jesus. Consider simply going over to them and asking them how you can pray for them. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. This declaring is not only in word but in deed. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. You can see here that it is God who does the calling and drawing His people near and then they are to go and declare this great God they have come to know and trust.

So, it is God who causes those who are told the good news to believe, not the person who is the witness. The role of the witness is simply to share all that they have seen, heard, and experienced. God does the changing of hearts. It is also worth noting that ALL who know Him are to proclaim Him, not just a certain, talented or chosen few.

For more details on what it means to be a witness for Christ throughout all of scripture, check out this helpful resource from The Bible Project. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.

We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. It is through hearing the Word of God that people are saved! I love how Paul explains the entirety of the gospel in so many parts of scripture.

These can be great places to look and examine what to share.
